Por años busque el nombre de una banda, que oi en esas noches de ALcantarilla Gaseosa de la Rock & Pop, no podia recordar su nombre, solo recordaba que habia un aroma a Luna in Caelo,hasta que un dia escuche un cassete grabado en eso dias, y ahi aparecio, era Justine, banda casi desconocida para muchos. 

Investigando descubri que Juan Carlos Oyarzún, que formaba parte de Christianes, en 1992 la deja para crear su propia idea musical. En ese tiempo conoce a Cynthia Marinkovic, ambos eran estudiantes de Artes visuales en el Arcis. Desde ese momento comienza la idea de este proyecto llamado Justine. Los demas integrantes eran Aníbal Toro en guitarra, y Guillermo Rodriguez en el bajo, el cual provenía de la banda "Santos Inocentes".

Justine realiza un demo en 1996 con seis canciones para difusión radial y para mostralo en los lugares que tocaban, mas que nada como una tarjeta de presentación de la banda. Algunos de los temas incluídos eran "En el Jardín", "Olas en Fuego", "El Espejo de Juliette" y otras.

Realizaron varias actuaciones en el circuito de discoteques y fiestas locales tocando junto abandas como Luna in Caelo y Shogún.

A fines de 1997 y principios de 1998 registran su primer disco de manera independiente y son incluídos en el compilado "El Hechizo del Tiempo" del sello Crisis Records, con el tema "En el Jardín". Pero el grupo encontró tope en no poder grabar un disco con las condiciones técnicas que ellos pretendían, lo que se traducía en la falta de un estudio adecuado, además de la relación costo-tiempo que involucraba grabar un disco. Al tiempo dejaron de tocar perdiendo el interés de hacerlo siempre en el mismo circuito en que la banda se había desarrollado 

La última aparición en vivo se realiza en diciembre de 1999 siendo teloneros de Clan of Xymox en la discotheque Blondie, cuando los holandeses visitaron Chile. Entonces comenzó un período de silencio, en ese período Cynthia y Aníbal tuvieron a su hija Elisa, según propias palabras de Aníbal, "Justine absorbía demasiado tiempo y recursos". Entonces se dedicaron a

proyectos personales y a regrabar algunos temas.

La última manifestación mediatica de Justine como banda fue participar con el tema "Final Feliz" en el soundtrack de la película "Sangre Eterna" del director Jorge Olguín en el 2002. 

Cuatro años después Aníbal Toro retoma las pistas grabadas por Justine y hace un trabajo de postproducción en base a las ideas originales. Aníbal cuenta: " El 2006 retomé las pistas grabadas y las comencé a retocar según la idea original que teníamos en esos años. Igual cambió bastante, ya que en esos años, acceder a un estudio que tuviera buenos equipos era muy caro, por lo que las grabaciones originales distan bastante del resultado final."

Este resultado es Del Exceso al Cielo,  un disco oscuro, melancolico, obsesivo y lleno de densas atmosferas, que los situa como una banda de culto a estas alturas, que bien vale la pena escuchar y disfrutar, aunque sea casi 20 años despues.
